What is Phaeton's Carbon Credit Trading?

Phaetons Carbon Credit trading is the process of buying and selling carbon credits. Some of these credits permit a company or other entity to emit CO2; some represent one ton of CO2 emissions that have already been offset. Together, they form a market-based system to reduce CO2 emissions that cause global warming.

Phaeton's Carbon Credit Exchanges is the vehicle of this task.

Phaeton's Carbon Credit Exchange is also called carbon emissions trading. Phaeton is the first Australian / India Blockchain-based Exchange using Phaeton Blockchain Protocol, for which we have designed and developed a carbon trading platform. This is based on the cap-and-trade regulations introducing market-based incentives to reduce pollution.

What is a Carbon Offset Credits

Carbon offset credits, however on the other hand, are a type of credit that represents one ton of CO2 removed from the atmosphere. This removal can be achieved in several ways, for example – by planting trees or directly capturing carbon from an emission source or the atmosphere. Projects that can remove some of this carbon that could potentially end up in the earth's atmosphere can sell these CO2 reductions as carbon credits.

A large portion of companies claim carbon trading is a cost-effective solution to the climate crisis we have around the world. Others, however, have argued it's just a distraction and can't help resolve global warming. Despite these criticisms, carbon trading has done and remains to be a central idea in many proposals for companies to combat the effects of climate change. To date, there's yet to be a unified global marketplace for carbon trading. However, several regional markets have been created where cap-and-trade programs and various trading platforms exist.
